How to Feel Accomplished

It’s difficult to feel accomplished when you’re not accomplishing something that matters to you.

So in order to feel accomplished, here’s what you do:

  1. Do something that matters to you.
  2. Be consistent.
  3. Don’t let the feeling of accomplishment replace your desire to do something that matters.

Yes, it’s that simple.

Were you expecting something more complicated?

  • Steve – I especially like item #3. It’s easy to sit back once you hit that feeling of accomplishment and stop ‘doing’. At least it is for me. I have to regularly tell myself that, while it’s great that I’ve written a song people like, I need to keep going. There’s more to say and do. Sure, we should dance in the joy of accomplishment, but we can’t lose track of whatever our bigger vision happens to be. Continuing the creativity is a life-long pursuit, whether it’s music, or coaching, or business, or whatever it happens to be for each of us.

    • Right – more and more I’m thinking that there’s no such thing as “having made it”. You’ve put it beautifully here Jeff, thanks.
